Several researchers and doctors from our hospital have developed and put into operation the world's first image-guided oncology operating theatre. This real-time image-guidance system will increase the safety of the intraoperative radiotherapy treatments carried out at our hospital by improving the precision and efficiency of radiation during cancer operations without damaging healthy tissue.

This innovative system has been developed by researchers from the Medical Imaging Laboratory and the Department of Oncology, in collaboration with the company GMV and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

The presentation ceremony will take place next 17 December at 11 am, in the Assembly Hall of the Oncology Pavilion.
