The AEI has opened the application period for the R3 Certificate until 13 March 2024.

Law 14/2011 of 1 June on Science, Technology and Innovation provides that research staff may obtain an R3 certificate as an established researcher, which will be recognised in selection processes for permanent new-entry staff announced by universities, Public Research Organisations and other research organisations of the General State Administration, research organisations of other Public Administrations, including centres of the National Health System or those linked or contracted with it, and biomedical research foundations and consortia, as well as public consortia and public-sector foundations.

The R3 certificate will be taken into account for the purposes of assessing research merits in such selection processes, and will apply to the tests or curriculum assessment stages for research staff participating in these processes, such that it will have the effect of exempting from or compensating for part of the tests or stages of curriculum assessment or their equivalents, for all Public Administrations.

The body responsible for assessing the quality requirements of the scientific and technological output and activity established for the R3 certificate as an established researcher is the State Research Agency.

The purpose of this action is to assess the careers of national and foreign researchers within the framework of a postdoctoral pathway for access to the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System, thereby recognising their research quality and independence and, upon meeting the European profile of an established researcher (R3), obtaining R3 certification as an established researcher.

The application period will be open from 22/02/2024 until 13/03/2024, at 14:00.

The State Research Agency (AEI) will hold a webinar next Tuesday 27 February 2024 at 10:00 a.m.. (Madrid) to present the R3 Certificate call – 2024 as an established researcher.

The attendance capacity is 1,000 people. However, the webinar will be recorded, and both this recording and the PDF presentation. will be available the following day on the AEI website www.aei.gob.es and on its Twitter account @AgEInves”.
