New Collective Bargaining Agreement of the group of companies of the Biomedical Research Foundations of the SERMAS Healthcare Institutions

Dear colleagues:

We are pleased to inform you that on 26 July, the new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the group of companies comprising the Biomedical Research Foundations of the SERMAS Healthcare Institutions was published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).

This regulatory framework, the result of the efforts and collaboration of all the parties involved, marks a significant step forward in the professional recognition and improvement of the working conditions of our collective.

It should be noted that, although the new agreement comes into force on the day following its publication, the financial effects on remuneration will be applied retroactively from 1 December 2024 to all workers subject to the new salary scale (Article 3).

Furthermore, the agreement introduces a new professional career model structured by levels, the development of which is set out in Transitional Provision Three. In this regard, a process for recognition of Level I is established, accessible by means of an individual application within three months of the agreement coming into force.

In the coming weeks, we will provide you with more detailed information on the application of the new basic salary for each professional category (Annex I – Remuneration Table), as well as the timetable and procedure for the payment of arrears from 1 December 2024.

We will also provide all the necessary guidelines for the process of recognition of Level I of the professional career, aimed at those workers who, as of 1 January 2024, can demonstrate five or more years of service at the Foundation.
