The Pasqual Maragall Research Programme (PMRP) funds research projects on Alzheimer’s disease or other age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
Projects must address at least one of the following topics focused on Alzheimer’s disease or other age-related neurodegenerative diseases:
· Translational research to develop new drugs and generate preclinical evidence
· Biomarkers in biofluids
· Neuroimaging biomarkers
· Digital biomarkers
· Epidemiological studies
· Genetic risk factors
· Development of new research tools and resources
· Immunity and inflammation
· Modifiable risk factors
· New approaches to risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention
· Disease prevention
· Biological processes and molecular pathways associated with disease onset, progression or outcome
· Tools to predict risk, severity and protection against disease
· Non-pharmacological interventions
· Neuropathology
· Any other topic related to Alzheimer’s disease or other age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
Up to €800,000 will be awarded per project and the grant covers up to 21% of indirect costs (overhead).
The deadline for submitting the letter of intent (LOI) is 22 October 2026 at 15:00. If selected, the deadline for submitting the full proposal will be in April 2027, with a minimum of one month to prepare it from the date of notification.
Applicants must submit their application by 12:00 on 14 October, together with the evaluation application form, for assessment by the iiSGM Research Committee email link(ELIMINAR). In addition, applicants must notify their interest in applying at least 10 working days in advance.
