Biomedical Engineering

Coordinador:

Dr. Manuel Desco

The Biomedical Engineering area provides a complementary and clearly enriching perspective on the research traditionally carried out in Biomedicine. Its technological component, the cross-cutting nature and immediacy of its application, as well as its clear focus on innovation, give the area considerable added value.

Moreover, this area represents the link between the Gregorio Marañón Health Research Institute and Universidad Carlos III and, in addition to its research activities, develops the central part of the undergraduate studies for the new Biomedical Engineering degree taught by this University, promoting, through interdisciplinary cooperation, the improvement of multidisciplinary research capacity, the rapid translation of knowledge and, ultimately, an effective response to the important questions arising from the field of Biomedicine.
