Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and AIDS

This area focuses its research activity primarily on two consolidated groups which, together, generate a strong level of both clinical and laboratory research. Notably, the groups in the area are part of cooperative research centres (CIBER for respiratory diseases), promote and lead cooperative infection networks in transplant patients (RESITRA), or lead various multicentre cohorts in the field of AIDS (GESIDA).
The area’s research lines are numerous, as is the range of infectious diseases; nevertheless, each of the group’s lines is associated with significant scientific and teaching output over the last five years.
