Permanently open

The platform for promoting and innovating the industrial capabilities of the National Health System (ITEMAS) is launching a programme to fund services aimed at innovative projects which, arising in healthcare centres of the National Health System (SNS), have the potential to improve Spanish healthcare.

Through this programme, opportunities to provide them with value-added services are identified to help promote the transfer of high-impact technology to the National Health System and the production sector.

Projects that meet the following requirements may apply for the Platform's services:

They must have been developed within the framework of R&D&i activities carried out by one or more Nodes or Affiliated Centres.

  • They must have a result that can be protected by an intellectual or industrial property right or by business secrecy.
  • Rights to that result must be wholly or partially owned by one or more Nodes or Affiliated Centres.
  • The result must be capable of commercial exploitation and must meet a need.

Projects that form part of the ITEMAS portfolio have an acceleration, valorisation, transfer and commercialisation services plan provided by the ITEMAS platform. These services may be carried out internally or externally.

The areas covered by the Acceleration Services Portfolio offered by the Platform to selected projects are as follows:

Project evaluation: includes the evaluation of new projects, the development of project valorisation plans, Feasibility Analysis and Due Diligence.

  • Business development: includes defining the product commercialisation strategy, identifying potential customers and distributors, establishing the first contact and conducting cost-effectiveness studies.
  • Creation of the spin-off: guidance and support in the creation of the spin-off and, if necessary, acting as Interim CEO.
  • Fundraising: establishment of the fundraising strategy, public fundraising and support in Innovative Public Procurement (IPP) processes, private fundraising and advice on project presentations.
  • Support for the project before and after commercialisation: monitoring of the contractual frameworks for licences and support in public-sector market access activities.

The projects submitted will not only be able to benefit from this portfolio of services, but some of them will also have the opportunity to receive support from the Genesis Tech-Transfer Boost investment vehicle. To submit projects, please contact innovacion(ELIMINAR)@iisgm.com.

PRECIPITA

PRECIPITA is the public Spanish science crowdfunding platform managed by FECYT. It was created following an analysis of the current national landscape and the finding that there was no solid platform focused on research and scientific dissemination projects which, in addition to serving as a tool for seeking funding, would promote dissemination and bring scientific knowledge closer to society and open research centres up to society. It was created with the aim of providing the scientific community with a tool to encourage and support researchers in making their projects known, so that society can discover, understand, feel, value, experience and actively participate in science. The platform showcases scientific projects from any discipline to citizens: health, the environment, mathematics, social sciences, etc. These projects seek renewed impetus and acceleration thanks to the small contributions of many people. It is exclusively for public research and development institutions or entities dependent on them. It is another way for scientists and science communicators to engage with citizens and convey the value of their work in order to gain support. The platform is already public for the purpose of carrying out the final tests in a real environment, but the official launch will take place at the beginning of October. More information

Crowd UC3M

The Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer of UC3M presents the pilot collective microfinancing programme "crowdfounding", CROWD_UC3M. CROWD_UC3M is aimed at promoting research, knowledge transfer and innovation projects in the various areas of activity of UC3M, promoted by members of its university community. Projects will be selected through a call and disseminated for funding via the Goteo platform, a social network for collective funding and distributed collaboration. The call has a universal vocation, meaning that it is open to the various groups that make up the university community.  Research, transfer and innovation projects of interest both to UC3M and to society will be selected, regardless of their content, for example the design of new products or processes, cooperation and equality, internationalisation, new teaching tools, etc. Projects must also have a clear dimension of promoting open knowledge. Thus, a substantial part of the knowledge generated by the project must be made available for use by the general public. More information
